Unlock the Castle: Explore Sforza Castle with Ad Artem!

26.06.2026

You can see the Sforza Castle from the street. Everyone does. But the people who walk away with a story are the ones who went inside and then kept going: through a doorway nobody notices, down a staircase that shouldn't exist, into a city Milan buried centuries ago. Secrets, masterpieces, and hidden passages waiting inside the walls of the Sforza Castle. Here's other ways to make them yours.

Sforza Castle Guided Tour

This is the tour you take when you want to actually see the castle and not just walk through it.

Your guide brings the collections to life: Michelangelo's unfinished Pietà Rondanini (his last work, left incomplete at his death); Leonardo da Vinci's extraordinary Sala delle AsseCanaletto's luminous Milanese views; and dozens more across collections that most visitors miss entirely.

Two hours inside these rooms, with someone who genuinely knows what they're looking at, changes the way you see the rest of the city. Bonino da Campione's monumental tomb of Bernabò Visconti. Foppa's tender Madonna del Libro. Leonardo's mechanical automaton. Each piece connects to the next and your guide draws the map.

Sforza Castle Underground Tour

Below the castle, there's another little big secret. Most people never see it.

The underground passageways of the Ghirlanda were part of the Sforzas' defensive system: secret corridors, vaulted tunnels, narrow channels running beneath what is now Parco Sempione, following the original line of the fortress walls. Walking through them, in the near-dark, surrounded by 15th-century masonry, you get a physical sense of the engineering genius that went into keeping a dukedom safe.

The tunnels are real, intact, and genuinely hidden from the city above. Your guide navigates you through the subterranean network, unpacking the military strategies and historical moments encoded in the stone. It's a rare experience, the kind you can't get from a guidebook, a map, or a viewpoint. You have to go under.
